Description: Rawlins Plantation is a beautiful country Caribbean Inn, perched at 350 feet above sea level, set on the northern slopes of St Kitts. The Inn has been built from the ruins of a 17th Century sugar cane plantation and offers spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and neighbouring French and Dutch islands. There are just 10 rooms set amongst 12 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and surrounded by fields of lush green sugar. It is small and refined, beautiful and utterly tranquil. Beautiful appointed rooms are built into the stone buildings of the old estate, adding to the atmosphere of this traditional setting.
Rooms: The accommodation comprises of charming cottages which vary in style dotted around the beautiful gardens. Most of them have been created from the old plantation out-buildings, for example, the honeymoon suite is an enchantingly converted windmill.
Each cottage is individually decorated with white or stone walls, wooden floors, bright Cotton fabrics and occasional antiques. Facilities include: Toiletries, hair-drier, bath with shower, ceiling fans and verandah, but in keeping with an old sugar plantation exclude mini-bars, telephone, television and air-conditioning. Phone calls, e-mails and faxes may be made from the main office.
Dining: The Inn is renowned for fantastic food. Varied and innovative cuisine with a strong West Indian influence. There is a daily West Indian lunch buffet and a set four-course evening menu.
Facilities and Services: Spring-fed swimming pool, grass tennis court, croquet, boules, walking trails. Or simply laze in a hammock admiring the antics of egrets, humming-birds, doves and kingbirds, sipping rum punch.
